Salmon Summer Day will help you to uncover the world of salmon, conservation, and ecology through an interactive trip into a freshwater ecosystem. You will alternate between four unique stations, each covering the salmon life cycle through topics like water quality and pollution, macroinvertebrates, riparian ecology and native plants, and salmon biology! These activities are designed to inspire your curiosity, let you experiment with scientific skills and methodology, and embolden you to be a leader in environmental stewardship. On the day of the program you will arrive, have an introduction, break out into groups, be led through each station, enjoy nature walks and time on the river, explore salmon habitat together, collect bugs, and use scientific tools and methodology to measure stream health in real time.
This event is held in partnership with the Tualatin Riverkeepers.
